Interesting to see what the changes will result in! Maybe they're making the track shorter so fuel tanks will no longer be drained!

The track will be longer with the new loop but in terms of F1, the number of laps will come down.

Yup, some 750 meters longer if I remember correctly.

....with a new pit complex being built too, but that and the new start finish straight won't be used till 2011. Good. Had me worried for a few seconds after we'd booked tickets alongside the current start/finish straight before the changes were announced...

its so sad when we loose a track layout, anyone know the fastest lap around the now old layout?

Schumacher 2004 i'd say, twas when F1 cars where at its peak & when most record laps have been set!

Only sadness about this new section is the cars will no longer pass under Bridge. Shame.
