An Everyday Woman Thing - Family, Friends And Little White Mice.

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=24&showentry=658

So. I'm sitting in my chair. My mum, James and Sarah my siblings just arrived. Its pounding my head already. 'You've lost weight you need to eat more' 'Your motorbike needs new tyres.' 'Why have you not called me sis?'

Well. I have my reasons.

But you know what? I really need them right now. So, I'll put up with the barrage of questions, and the looks of concern. Because my mum is the one person I should be able to go to now my Dad's not here. My mum has taken the role of mother and father to 8 of us. My mum has her own stuff to sort yet has dropped her life to see to me. And I love her for it.

Every day should be mothers day. We should treat them like a queen. In the film version of Silent Hill, there's a quote. 'Mother is God in the eyes of a child.'

I still feel like an experiment at the moment, for things I'll keep close. Like a trapped little white mouse running around a great big wheel. But I have friends that really love me. I'm lucky. So lucky that they will be there no matter what. Thank you so much, you know who you are.

So. Back to the nagging. I'm grateful to just hear it. I know she loves and cares and worries about me. I love knowing it.

Give your mums a great big hug. If you can't, call her. If they are no longer with us, remember them with love.

They're worth everything this planet has.

Like a Jedi, each artist must craft his own weapon. I can't say when it should happen, but an artist will know when it's time. For me, the time is now; I'm a late bloomer. The weapon I'm talking about is our trusty palette. Until we reach the point of crafting our own, we make due with a variety of weapons...mostly cheap store-bought ones.

Some choose to fabricate their weapon out of metal, or plastic, pressboard or even plexi-glass. I favor wood. Now the challenge is finding the right wood. I need a tight grained, light-weight but sturdy wood that's no thicker than 1/8" (if you want decimals, figure it out yourself, beeatch. I'm imperial all the way). Any suggestions from the wise forum members scattered about? At the moment, I'm favoring pine.

An Everyday Woman Thing - Does Forever Exist?

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=24&showentry=650

Well does it?

Some things have forced me to take another view. Look at life from the glass is half empty side. Is forever or eternity possible?

We all say until the end of time at one point in our lives. So does that contradict the term 'forever'?

I guess I started questioning after I buried my dad last wednesday. I miss him unbelievably so much. He was my closest friend and I could talk to him about anything. I guess a little part of me died with him. But I'll always remember him with the love I have as a daughter, and as a friend. My Dad was a true mans man. He'd go out of his way to help people. I guess he's back with my brother and my uncle now.

Anyway, forever. The service took place graveside as my Dad hated churches, he was so anti-church I guess Thats where I get it from. Atheist. We still needed a priest to conduct the service, and I still stuck to my Dad's wishes to say a few words which I did. Anyway, the priest turns around and says 'bound to this earth forever until the end of time' - contradictory or what?

So I'm not sure if forever exists or if Indeed until the end of time.

What do you think?

Yatterings of an Autumnpuma - Awful Offal

Ah, offal. No coincidence it's pronounced 'awful' is it? But let me back up a moment. I like to screw television. No, not the actual machinery (ouch!) but rather the networks that put on asinine programs and the pay-cable-companies that charge way too much for different asinine programs. Can we have a system where I can pick and choose my stations and pay only for those? Thanks. One of those stations I'd choose is an American network called 'The Food Network'. Quite original programming there for a cooking channel. I guess when you're dealing with a limited subject like a person standing there cooking, you really have to get creative to make it interesting. Anyway, I don't like to pay for 1,490 channels that I don't watch just to watch a few programs on The Food Network. So I do what most people do....I watch youtube.

Offal. Now we get to the sweetmeat of this blog post. In watching one of my favorite shows 'Iron Chef America' (not as entertaining as the dubbed Japanese version, but close) I stumbled across 'Battle: Offal'. I immediately thought of Russ. So, in the hopes that Russ is still reading these pitiful blog entries of mine, so here is the link to the program in question. I hope nobody find them awful. Ha! I crack myself up.

Help! I'm lost! - Some Thoughts And Stuff

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=66&showentry=646

Thought it might be time for a blog entry seeing as I haven't done one. At the time of writing, it's 8:24, so yep, it is.

So I entered 2010 with a sense of hope really. Hope that things would be better. To be frank, the last months of 2009, espacially the Christmas period (and no, that's not completely down to me not being a fan of Christmas) with some really bad news that just came out the blue. You know the stuff where BANG! It sneaks up on you, winds you, and then leaves you doubled over in pain for quite a while after. Not fun. Well, what bad news is "good fun"? I've yet to find some...

Really, in a way though the first month and a half of 2010 have just carried on where 2009 left off. Quite a few disapointments, just when you are getting over the past one, another comes along. The one this time means that my dad might end up working either in France or Saudi Arabia. For 6 months. Not good when I only really see him for 3-4 days of a week anyway due to his work currently. He works for a big company called CSC which seems to never have heard of something called "family life". I suppose it could be worse. I could not see him at all like some kids at my school have to deal with after their parents have split up, or sadly, one of them has passed away when they were young.

School overall isn't that bad. It's just the work load is relentless. Which makes it hard to catch up espacially when you've missed some time. I recently came down with food poisoning and was pretty ill (I saw most of one day through a bucket) which meant I had no choice but to miss a few days. I'm not one who likes to have much time off anyway, but it was hard having to catch up for that and what with snow days and disrupted weeks due to other issues, it's been a strange term. After tomorrow, we break up for a week. I'm looking forward to recharging my batteries and not having to work (too) hard.

I'm looking forward to the Winter Olympics. I always enjoy them, so much more so than the normal ones. To me, there is some much more action, drama and danger involved, for example, people throwing themselves head first down an icy, near vertical slope on a plastic sledge compared to the 100 metre sprint. Don't get me wrong, in both games you have to be very special to compete, but overall, I just think the Winter ones are much more exciting and interesting and I follow them much more closely. They start this weekend but won't get to see much of them (live at least) seeing as we're going to an indoor ski place on saturday and going out for my dad's birthday on sunday. The only other real issue is the time differance, but I hope to some action. I was glued to the last Winter Olympics.

I guess the bad news I've had recently has been mingled in with a bit of good news. A kart track which is really only 2 minutes away from my house is opening soon, the previous closest track to me had been in Leeds, which is an hour and a half away. So I'm looking forward to that, I've already told a few friends at school about it and drummed up some interest, so maybe we could make it a weekly or every fortnight occasion to go karting one night after school, or at weekend, either good. I haven't been karting for a couple of years so I hope I'll be able to do that.

Oh, and for the second year in a row, I'm off to the British Grand Prix! Last year fell perfectly with friday practice a day after my last GCSE exam, so we went for all 3 days. Despite school being on the friday, we still hope to go for all 3 days this year. It's amazing though, we booked in Jan and already all the accomodation nearest to the track is completely booked up for that weekend, despite the race being many months away. Thankfully, we've dropped lucky. One place had a cancellation so we'll now be only 6 miles away from the track compared to the 16 miles we would be staying if that hadn't happened. Better still, we'll be staying close to a place called Whittlebury Hall, a place most the drivers stay, and apparently the drivers are willing to sign autographs in the evenings and mornings when they arrive/begin to set off from the accomodation. So hopefully I'd be able to blag a few autographs.

Anyway, I'm all newsed out. Take care guys,

Life just proper f*cking blows donkey balls at the moment. I'm keeping above water - or being kept above is a better term.

Man. When it happens, it happens. It hits you in the f*cking stomach and takes the wind out of you. Not that i have a lot of wind mind.

I'm offski for a bit. Don't be offended if you're on my MSN list and I don't talk to you. I just don't feel like talking much. So apologies if I've been evasive.
There's only two I can talk to. One of them has gone. For good. And I wish I could bring them back. I need their help.

An Everyday Woman Thing - Earth To Steph? She'S Not Answering.

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=24&showentry=641

So I figure its time to update this thing. Quick off the mark aren't I? Told you I was special!

Well. My knee is now covered with a dog muzzle lookalike metal cage thing. If this doesn't get better, I'm afraid I'll be taking the way of Jimmy in South Park and wearing bolts in my legs with bars either side. Nice, sobering thought isn't it. Way to go Steph, depress everyone! Like everyone reads? I'm not answering that question!

I have a new passion in life. Knitting. Yeah. I sit and knit one, pearl one. Its liberating.

Of course the above is a complete blatant lie. But I bet it made you go 'WHAT? That psychotic bike riding JD swilling chick likes KNITTING??' YOU FOOLS!

There's not much to tell really. Only excited about Jimi's new album out in March. New York in March. Moving back to Northampton. Still number one in Burnout. Still rocking my MW2 arse out. Still drifting on NFS, Bayonetta style with a touch of Darksiders to match the old Army of Two and MAG.

Wtf Steph? This is just a small glimpse into the way my mind works. I haven't let you underground into the smut that lies there. You're lucky.

Aw man. Supernatural. How cool can one TV series be. The two lead guys are HAWT WOOF WOOF HOWL and it just keeps getting better. I love it.

So. There.

Bye.

Well go on, get!

ANDRES! Stop your voyeurism! I KNOW YOU'RE STILL THERE!

Out of here.

Help! I'm lost! - Politicaly Crap

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=66&showentry=639

Political Correctness. We hear enough about it these days don't we? Am I in the minority when I say I'm sick to the back teeth of it?

Once upon a time there was a world where you could sing "Baa Baa Black Sheep" quite happily and a blackboard was a blackboard and all was well and good. Everything worked, nobody had a paddy over it and it was called 'Freedom of Speech'.

Now there's a world where it's "Rainbow Sheep" (LSD much?) and whoever was responsible for PC went on a rampage, tearing down black boards from schools around the school's countrys and burning them. In their place, the expensive and not as easy to use white boards. Joy.

Where the hell did it go so wrong? What was wrong with it? The no-nonsense '90's wasn't it?

Seriously, if a kid (or anybody for that matter) of the opposite race took offence from a nursery rhyme or a school apperatus, well, they need/ed their head looking at A.S.A.P

Tell it how it is for once. It's a Black Sheep. You can get them, they exist!

See? Shall we irradicate the country of this creatures as well so we arn't offending someone somewhere?

Funny thing is black manikins in shops, yet people of a differing race seem perfectly happy with that. As do the PC brigade. Infact, it's ENCOURAGED. So, where on earth did we get to a point where you can't say "Black Sheep" any more (Sucks for Black Sheep Brewery, White Sheep Brewery just doesn't have the same ring to it) but err, black manikins are okay?

Does it not dawn on this thickets that in some instances (the whiteboard thing) could actually be seen in some ways as racist (if you wanted to be stupid, which it seems most people are when it comes to being Politically Correct)? In a way, putting whiteboards up you are infering white is the superior race and that the blackboards could symbolise people wanting to hide away black people? I dunno, what goes on in the PC brigade baffles me.

Another thing that annoys me relate to this is, well, in a way people of different nationalities and races coming in to our country.

Now hear me out here. Okay, so it's fair to say Britain is a patriotical country? Whenever it is near the Olympics or the World Cup, English flags appear everybody. People toot their car horn to that oh-so-annoying but oh-so-British tune. But recently, in 2009, during the Ashes, a group of Muslims (who had come from another country it has to be stated) had the bare right cheek to complain, yes COMPLAIN that there were too many British flags up and they felt "vunerable".

And yes, they were quite aware Britain was in the final...

Well, tough ****! What do you expect? Accept it or get out. It's not going to change seeing as this is......oh yeah.....Britain!

Tell it how it is. It's a Black sheep, it's a black board and that's a black car. Anyone who has a problem with that, well, you're in the wrong country my friend.

Saying something is "Black" should not in an way be racist nor insulting, yet the loonies make it so that as soon as that five letter word comes out of your mouth, no matter in what innocent context, "OMG, YOU'RE A RACIST!!!!!!11"

I wonder what Winston Churchill would make to it all if he was around today to see what a sad state we live in. I bet he's turning in his grave.

Yatterings of an Autumnpuma - Gaia Dearest

http://www.totalf1.com/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=27&showentry=638

Well, the shouts now resounding through the hallowed halls of TF1 herald yet another debate about Global Warming. One side maintains that we can figure out weather patterns of a planet that's a few billions of years old with 200 years worth of data and the other side is reducing the opposition to a religious cult. I think you all are missing a critical piece of information.

Mother Earth hates us.

I think She liked the dinosaurs better than us little monkeys; she kept the climate stable for those big, dumb turkeys for millions of years. She nurtured them and protected them until a meteor smashed into Her and ruined Her favorite lifeform. Think about it: at every turn Gaia has tried to destroy us. Floods, earthquakes, landslides, tornadoes, sandstorms....you name it, and humans have died from it. We settle a nice bit of area and She turns it into a desert. We build a nice warm house on a hill and She sends torrential rain to send that house down into the valley. Is this the behaviour of a loving Mother? I think not.

She hates trees too.

It's probably because trees really like us. They take in our poisons and give us clean air to breathe. They drop tasty fruit for us to eat and sacrifice themselves for our houses, pencils and nickels. Lets face it, trees are our greatest ally. Now Gaia knows this and sends lightning down to destroy the trees. Clever trees, however, just turn their own ashes into fertile ground to grow more trees. This, I think, really p!sses Mother Earth off. Her own skin used against her will.

So stop all your concerns for saving the planet. Quit debating the whole thing and go change your car's oil. That oil is made from Gaia's beloved dinosaurs and I say take that used oil and go dump it somewhere. Let it soak into the soil and give Gaia Dearest the middle finger and shout 'THAT'S FOR THE ICE AGE, B!TCH!".

Carry on.

Been a long time since I <del class='bbc'>rock'n'rolled</del> wrote a blog entry. Seems like a year ago. The title doesn't mean anything in particular (or does it?). Just liked the way the words fit together. So, what to say. Firstly, chez Gorilla at last has a kitchen that doesn't include unsightly piles of power tools, saw dust, pieces of brick and naked power cables. So, hooray for that, then. Just in time for the haggis. The King of Offal. Better than calling it spicy sheep lungs I suppose. My word, it's tasty.

Have you any idea how much sh!t 35 feet of 6" salt glazed pipe can accommodate? Well? Have you?? I reckon it's about 4 years, judging by the colour and texture at the far end. That's a lot of ordure however you slice it. And that's the thing with a drain. The time interval between it collapsing and you noticing can be quite large. So you learn to be more observant without appearing obsessive(Oh,look dear, the nice gorilla has got his head down the inspection chamber again.), or you'll end up carrying 35 feet of crap to the nearest functioning outfall using a plastic bucket and a headscarf. Just like me.
